Faith Is Now

Becoming a Christian

Becoming a Christian isn’t as hard as many people think. In fact, it isn’t hard at all. It is the easiest thing you can ever do in your life, yet it is the most important thing you’ll ever do in your life. A person becomes a Christian by believing that God raised Jesus from the dead; by confessing Jesus as the Lord of their life. It is that simple.

We provided some biblical references for you to read with reference to God’s plan for your salvation.

Sin is not Your Problem

Your Need for Salvation.

Romans 5:12

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

“…by one man sin entered into the world…” Notice that your sin is not your problem. The “one man” the Bible is referring to is Adam. You may know the story about Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. There was a tree there that God forbade them to eat from. In disobedience to God, they ate the fruit from that tree and they died. No, they didn’t drop dead physically. They died spiritually. Their disobedience separated them from God. Therefore, every child born after them was born in sin. So, you see, sin is not your problem. You were born a sinner. God saw that it was His problem, but he also provided the Solution.

God Loves You

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 says, for God so loved the world… The ‘world’ is you. You can place your name there and say, …for God so loved _________(your name) that He gave His only begotten son. Who is His Son? His Son is Jesus. He is the first begotten Son of God sent to the earth to save you from your sin.

Only the Name of Jesus

Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Only by the name of Jesus can you be saved. Acts 4:12 says that salvation isn’t available any other way, except by the Name of Jesus. In other words, the names of other gods or great religious leaders cannot save you. You can only be saved through Jesus. He is right there, waiting for you to call on Him.

Applying the Solution

Romans 10:8-10, 13

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Jesus is as close as you opening your mouth and saying His name … Jesus. The scripture says if you believe in your heart. That is not referring to your physical heart, but to the core of your being. The real you. Then it says to confess with your mouth. Confess simply means to “say.” Say that Jesus is your Lord. Once you say that Jesus is your Lord, you are saved, you are a Christian. It’s not by working for Him. It is by saying that Jesus is Lord.

Jesus, your Salvation, is your Gift from God

Eph 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Salvation is God’s gift to the world. Therefore, the only thing you need to do for a gift is to receive it. You don’t work for it, nor jump up and down for it. It’s just like receiving a Christmas gift or a birthday gift. You simply receive the gift and say “Thank you.”

John 1:12 – The right to Receive the Gift

John 1:12

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

In case you may think that you are unworthy to receive such a gift, or that your sin is so bad that you think all these words are certainly not for you. Think again. Maybe in your mind you are not worthy. But in God’s mind and through His love, you are worthy. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done. God loves you, and He wants you to know that He is not mad at you. He has already settled the dispute between you and Him. Just accept Him. He has accepted you as His very own Child. Call on His name. If you call on the name of Jesus, He gives you the ability, the right and authority to become his very own child.

Pray this Prayer to God and you will be saved

God in Heaven, I read about Jesus today and receive Him as my Lord.

I believe that Jesus died for my sin; and you, God, raised Him from the dead.

Jesus is now my Lord. You are now my Heavenly Father.

Thank you, Father, for saving me and for doing something wonderful with my life, beginning today.
